Are you really? Biking? Across America??

Okay, so everyone has sooo many questions... and I have SOME answers (the truth is that I am just showing up and following the route they give me!)

First, YES, I am biking my beautiful, awesome bike with a cool new bell on it that says I LOVE MY BIKE (well, not REALLY on my bike but on it in spirit since I don't really have room for it) thanks to Emily (thanks Em!)! Cause I really do love my bike... though I might have a love-hate relationship with it at certain parts on the trip!

I can't wait to go.... I have put a lot of hard training days, lots of sleep and still often fatigue, new necessary nutrition learning, all together and off I am going... leaving from San Francisco and looking towards Maine (and over the Rockies!).

Check out the trip online: http://www.americabybicycle.com/CCC/

I will be keeping the blog along the way - so stay tuned and don't forget to comment so I know you are out there!! :)

Hi Audrey,
I am soooo excited about your trip. I wish I could see you off, but I cannot! This journey will be more wonderful than you thoughtit would be. It will also be harder than you thought it would be! Whatever the days hold, each moment is unrepeatable. Hold them with wonder and awe.

I want to know how Mindfulness goes while you're pedaling, as well as all the details. Don't forget your sunscreen. And don't be welded to the idea that you have to complete each day's route. He who rides SAG wagon lives to pedal another day. Love, Health and Peace -- Lawrence

Don't forget to breathe Ha Ho!

Marilyn,

I am excited to hear that your kids are following along on a map - it is a great way to learn more about each state... I am still in California and have learned more about California in the last 3 days than I ever knew... very exciting! Did you ever know the story of Donner's Pass? I didn't but will be there today and get to watch a video on it... suppose to be interesting.... have fun following along and I'll be sure to keep updating as I go!

I'm trying to send a comment but it isn't going through. I read your blog every day and laughed when talked about the head wind. Yes, I am very familiar with it whether cycling or kayaking into the wind. I've taking a cycling stance even in my kayak. I may look strange, but leaning far over certainly cuts down the wqind resistance. :) Hope this one comes through.
Love ya, Aunt Joyce

Audrey what a good ride. Yeah tired days. I know about those!! They seem abit too close lately. I have decided that 10pm is too late for bed. I will be going to bed at 9pm!!!!
Today Lori, Sherri Goodman and I rode to Corrolitos. Sherri turned around and Lori & I went 1/3 eureka canyon before we turned around to do cox rd then came home after our 3 1/2 ride. Tomorrow I will be running Nisene on a trail I don't know then for a swim at cowells. My car was covered with ash from the local fire (boony doon). Grace & I spent the day gathering items for her trip. She will be having a bunch of friends over tomorrow to pack up her room....xo c

Good Morning Ms Audrey!!!
your tuesday ride sounded good---can I come along? I woke early and got on my bike at 6am for an hour ride with a 20 minute brick. Today is going to be a warm day. It was so nice to be up and riding around in the early morning hearing the waves, seeing the surfers.
My running attitude has improved soo much. After running on Sunday in Nisene I am so looking forward to the firecraker. I will be out at the track tonight with Terri's group then a softball game. Grace leaves tomorrow!!! She hasn't packed. I am leaving work (which is going well) at noon today to get her situated. I realized my tiredness for the last week is the angst of her leaving. She is angst about it too. Last night she asked if we could just stay up all night and watch tv together. Then she asked to sleep in my bed. She'll feel better this afternoon; we will get bacon waffles!!

Hi Audrey,
Your blog for the monastery could do for a vocation ad -- it was fun to read. Thanks much!
You are on your way to Kirksville, I see, but the weather forecast on internet says thunderstorms en route. I hope your weather angel keeps you dry.
I loved your visit!
Love, Audrey

Audrey,
happy 4th!! I just got home fromt he firecracker run. A lot of people out there today. I had a good run. I was hoping for better but as Lori says it's not like we have fresh legs when we go out. I can't kill myself 'cause I have a 4 hr ride tomorrow and sunday a 2 hr run. So it's just a training run: 1:06. I saw some people from SJ Fit one lady was the leader in my group and she lives in SV so I gave her my number. Then Bill (?) I guess he just moved into town too. I saw Annie on my ride last night: I was riding to SV on Glen Canyon and she was coming in from Rodel Gulch to b-40 heading home on Granit Creek. She wants to see a fire ride fundraiser happen. She is looking for someone to ride to big sur with her to see the fire. I am going to ride with her tomorrow for a few we'll do Mt Charley. Last weekend Lori & I did the swim for Barb's & the first part of the ride. Everyone says the first part of the ride is the hardest.
I have a house so if you want to come to that race you can. Grace weants to go
Grace just called. She is going to a disco tonight with her French friends!!!
My cousin is coming over and Siobhan and Jersome might stop in.
Eveyone says they are loving your log and keeping up with you.
I am sure we will be talking about you on our ride tomorrow!!
